Ian Beckman
Ian
Beckman is an Undergraduate student at Chapman University’s Dodge College
of Film and Media Arts with the Film Production major and an emphasis in
Directing. At the school, he has been a part of dozens of productions
ranging from the position of Grip, to Sound Designer, and to Director on various
Graduate and Undergraduate Thesis productions.
He is also
a major player in the genre of Machinima, the art of storytelling using
game engines and pre-rendered 3D animation from stylized computer games.
Using the popular video game World of
Warcraft, his work on the popular web series Azerothian Super Villains has cemented a strong reputation for
him throughout the gaming community. The series was also nominated for Best
Student Film at the Machinima Europe Festival 2007. In addition, his other
work includes the tutorial series How2Machinima
and the Cops parody series Guards.
